A re-imagined historical design given an exquisite time-worn effect for a rough-luxe look
We spotted this stunning take on the worn-look on our annual visit at the world's largest rug show in Germany and knew we simply had to have it. From one of India's finest and most regarded rug manufacturers, each are made to order from wool and real silk. One of India's oldest rug manufacturers, Jaipur Rugs certainly isn't a household name here, but its beautiful creations showcase India's growing status as not only one of the world's greatest rug making countries, but also as a hothouse of outstanding design. Reimagining one of its oldest historical designs, Jaipur Rugs has somehow captured the magic of another era, adding a timeworn quality that is at once elegant and thoroughly modern. Blurring colours and smudging details, this design is an exquisite rendition of an idea that began by adding candy shop colours to a traditional oriental design. These colours will literally make your space pop with brightness. Taking from 16 weeks to make and crafted to order from pure silk and wool, this hand-knotted rug is created at 188 knots per inch, giving exceptional quality and incredible definition. Labour intensive and painstaking, hand-knotting is the most traditional way of making and creates rugs of exceptional quality and longevity. Perfect for fine work and intricate patterns, a hand-knotted rug really is the don. Our hand-knotted styles range in density from 60-knots per inch right up to 150-knots for incredibly fine, velvet-like softness.
