A fresh new colourway to brighten up your space

Chroma Yellow

We’ve just launched a new version of the Chroma rug by Kitty Joseph in a bright and cheerful yellow colourway and it's really getting us in the mood for Summer. This rug holds heaps of texture because of its eye catching, hand-carved ridges which differentiates each shade of colour.

A Touch of Texture

This colourway was selected by Inspace Interior Design for a special client project, we loved it so much that we just had to add it to our website (big up Inspace!)

Their client wanted to achieve a sunny and bright space for their bedroom which would balance both a sense of calmness and vibrancy. The space itself had super high ceilings which they decided to balance with a textural wall hanging with many hues of yellow instead of a classic art piece.

This approach of incorporating a rug into a space as a wall hanging provides some unexpected benefits. Not only does it have a textural, three-dimensional design that really pops but also helps with the acoustics and how sound travels (goodbye noisy neighbours). The wool also helps regulate the rooms temperature, much needed in the coming months!

Origins of Chroma

The Chroma rug is based on Kitty Joseph’s spectrum pleated skirt, the pleats and radiating colours of her original design were translated into rug form, hand-carved and hand-shaped to replicate the defined rise and falls of the pleats of the original piece.

_Rug Tip:
Keep your Rug Poppin'

You’ll want to keep your rug looking radiant for as long as possible, here's a tip to maintain that 'just unrolled' feeling:

For a rug with ridges, we recommend using the hose attachment (without bristles) on your vacuum so you can get right into the grooves. Doing this in a small circular motion will lift the yarns upward to really enhance the 3D element of the rug and will also help to avoid creating streak marks from the vacuum.
