STIR YOUR SENSES
This MAY

Aside from rugs and counting down the days till we can rid the persistent April showers, we've been seeking out things that bring a bit of joy in the everyday. Some of which are just too good to keep to ourselves so we’ve compiled the team's favourites to spark those senses whether it's superb pub grub, exhibits to inspire or music to get totally lost in.

Subko Coffee

'Searching for a decent coffee on a recent trip to India led me to Subko coffee in the Bandra district of Mumbai. Great little area adorned with street art and full of character and tucked down a little side street that felt more Tokyo than Mumbai.

They are currently guesting at various London coffee shops, follow them on IG or click on the link for more info.'

Plaquemine Lock

'A cajun and creole restaurant on Regents Canal in Angel. Bringing vibes and flavor with their jazz night and unreal Bacon Beignets. They do a half price snacks deal from 4-6:30PM Monday - Friday.'

The Time is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure

'At the National Portrait Gallery (one of the best galleries in London in my opinion), the ‘Time is Always Now' is a brilliant, beautiful and enlightening exhibition looking at the representation and absence of the Black figure in Western art history.

Only on until 19th May though so be quick!'

Perambulations

'A series of curated architectural walks across North and East London, with an eye on modernist architecture. Stefi Orazi started producing the printed guides in 2020, after she started sharing her walks during Covid on insta and received loads of requests for more information on the walks.

The pamphlets themselves are collectors items, and give great insight into some hidden gems.'

Bundle & Beau

'Gifting done so well - There's a few different bundle's to choose from, each made up of lovely things like scrunchies, chocolate and skin care sourced from independent brands that promote wellness and a bit of indulgence.

Such a thoughtful & wholesome way to give a loved one a little boost!'

Pet Shop Boys - Nonetheless

'Returning after 4 years, Nonetheless sees the Pet Shop Boys working with new producer James Ford (having worked with Stuart Price on their previous 3 albums) to a decidedly late 1980s and lush effect!

The album is full of quintessential PSB pop hits and looks backwards as much as it looks forward. Synth pop ear candy!'
