Adam Nathaniel Furman
Where colour meets no bounds; from gigantic installations to fine rugs. Adam Nathaniel Furman knows exactly at what point form meets function in design.
‘Joyously deviant’ is how Adam Nathaniel Furman would describe their work, and we’re inclined to agree. A maximalist in colour, pattern, texture and form; Adam’s work has graced exhibitions right across the world and is held in collections of the Design Museum and the Carnegie Museum of Art.
Of Argentinian, Japanese and Israeli heritage, trained in architecture and fine art and now based in London, Adam’s projects are diverse, ranging from Japanese apartment interiors to tiles, chairs, lamps and art installations, whose work can be spotted from public spaces to the set of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Each project is unified by a sentiment of being gloriously joyful and approachable.
Adam has now designed a series of rugs to be enjoyed at home, where colour becomes personal and encompasses individuality within a space. Our rug collaboration is no different with vibrant colour combinations and motifs inspired by the Mediterranean. Adam’s rug designs transport us to lazy summer holidays, ancient ruins, and divine sunsets. They recall both the incredible history and ornamental traditions, as well as the mesmerising brightness of exquisite pigments under the bright sun. From the repetitive geometries on ancient pottery to the strong primary shapes of the marble pavement in the Pantheon.
