Artist Lakwena Maciver brings her vibrant and uplifting visual language into interiors and introduces neon shades of wool into the FLOOR_STORY rug catalogue for the very first time.

It’s through the combination of graphic shapes and typography that Lakwena’s artwork speaks to the soul. Whether you're feasting your eyes on one of her artworks, installations or product collaborations, there is a real sense of uniqueness in the vibrancy of the combinations of wording and symbolism.

Lakwena has worked across various materials and spaces, her portfolio stretches across mediums and scales, the breadth of projects has opened her work into inner city installations and murals, gallery walls as well as garments. Her projects are rooted in shared experiences and speak unifying words of celebration and liberation.

Colour was central to the collaboration, and led to the introduction of neon shades into the FLOOR_STORY rug range for the very first time. The combination of these neon yellows, greens and orange with monochrome within the defined arches of the central section of the rug contrasts with surrounding gradient borders and lettering where the multicoloured gradient strips dissolve into each other.

HOME PEACE

Introducing the uplifting energy of Lakwena’s art into interiors and looking to wool poms as the medium of finessing a rug design, the HOME PEACE rug showcases a graphic language into a tufted rug which brings both a bold and grounding energy into a space.

The tactility of tufting techniques comes through in the carved lines and deep pile, making it a fine piece underfoot or as a wall piece, dampening acoustics and regulating room temperatures with its 100% wool content.
