Coco Lom

Coco Lom sees the city as both the point of inspiration and a canvas to her sensory surface designs which encompass architectural murals and tiles, retail pop-ups, basketball courts, colourful benches and even the backdrop to music events.

Now directing her lens to interiors, Coco Lom has designed a rug that brings her shape and shadow collage into the tactility of rug-making, creating a playful centrepiece for homes and workspaces where geometric and irregular shapes align.

Through her work with brands such as Disney, Holland and Barrett and Pink Lady Apples, Coco Lom knows just how to connect people and products, evoking feelings of joy and play through experience-led interactions. This active approach is seen in the process of documenting details in everyday environments using photography, stripping them back to monochromatic compositions and then building collages that breathe an uplifting and joyful energy into a parade of patterns.

The shapes within the rug are informed by the details and materials from urban life where architectural shadows, intersecting lines and graphic signage inform designs that gleam with personality. These elements are encapsulated into a tonal blue and mottled monochrome wool tufted rug, perfect for playful interior spaces.

I love the idea that my rug tells like a playful visual story of a journey on the overground
