For Decorex 2021, as part of the Future Heritage exhibition, curated by Corinne Julius, Adam Nathaniel Furman has designed a rug for FLOOR_STORY, called Capricciosa.
The stunning piece is hand made from silk and wool and is an ‘almost edible celebration of the delicious delights of Italy, where the food echoes the art, architecture and landscape; An intoxicating interconnectivity of sophisticated sensory delight’. For Adam as always, colour and a sensual barrage upon the senses, is the aim – with vibrant colour a given but cleverly matched with an innate skill in choosing palettes which work perfectly with the medium at hand. FLOOR_STORY have worked on bringing Adam’s creative visions to life, with a rich colour palette and high quality yarns Decorex is on from October 10-13 at Olympia, London.
Crafted by punching strands of yarn onto a stretched canvas frame, hand-tufting brings a deep and luxurious texture. The feel of a hand-tufted rug is hard to beat and the technique is ideal for a myriad of shapes, painterly lines and bright, contrasting colours.
