rug _story
Holi, a festival of colour in hand knot.
Bring the vibrancy of celebration into your home with this stunning hand-knotted rug inspired by the Holi festival. Its intricate design evokes the dynamic beauty of powdered paint being thrown, featuring a mesmerising blend of reds, pinks, browns, and accents of blue and green.
Gulal, the powder paint thrown at Holi festival, a Hindu celebration, comes in a rainbow of colours and some have their own meanings. Red symbolises love, green as new beginnings, Blue representing the Hindu god Krishna.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this textile is a handmade piece, knotted in Kathmandu where the Holi festival is celebrated each year.

Hand Knotted
Labour intensive and painstaking, hand-knotting is the most traditional way of making and creates rugs of exceptional quality and longevity. Perfect for fine work and intricate patterns, a hand-knotted rug really is the don. Our hand-knotted styles range in density from 60-knots per inch right up to 150-knots for incredibly fine, velvet-like softness.
