Introduction

When Babnimnim approached the design concept for a Padra Clinic, a hair transplant facility in Kuwait City, the focus was on creating a sense of relaxation, tranquility, and optimism to calm clients in order to maximise on visitor experience.

Drawing inspiration from the 1970s, the use of soft forms and retro palettes established an inviting, tactile, and customer-focused experience from the outset. A key element in achieving this welcoming atmosphere was the furnishing. A cohesive look and feel were achieved through the Rigg & Furrow rug collection, which added a spark of colour and geometry.

These elements complemented the organic shapes found in the surrounding furniture and features, such as lounge sofas by Saba Italia, visitor chairs by Kastel, and approachable lighting fixtures from CB2.

Objective

Clinical spaces are often stereotyped as highly functional but lacking in warmth, typically characterized by stark white walls and harsh overhead lighting. Babnimnim redefined this expectation for the Padra Clinic by creating an environment that feels both luxurious and comforting.

Aligning with the clinic's brand identity, Babnimnim skilfully incorporated shades of orange, brown, and yellow into the furnishings while maintaining a minimal and visually soothing backdrop. Sculptural, organic shapes were paired with geometric elements to craft dynamic spaces that relax and rejuvenate those within.

Result

The tactility of the space was enhanced through carefully defined areas, marked by tufted rugs that provide a sense of ultimate luxury underfoot.

Babnimnim customised a series of rugs from the collection, including the Hawthorn, Primrose, and Aster runner designs, sizing them to perfectly fit the spaces and create symmetry within the overall interior.

By using the original colors of the rug designs, a sense of cohesiveness and contrast was achieved, harmonizing with other materials such as wood-grain marble, walnut wood veneer, and brushed brass.
