CASE STUDIES
Arts & Crafts inspired rugs for the Paul Mellon Centre
Designed by Trifle*
THE PROJECT
Commercial Interior Design Studio trifle* were approached by the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies, a key landmark for art history and education, to reconfigure and refurbish and modernise their Georgian spaces. As part of the renovation, trifle* briefed us with a creative concept for two vibrant, heritage inspired pieces for the final project.
Part of the inspiration for this project was the Arts & Crafts movement, known for ornate, decorative floral patterns and a stance on quality, handmade pieces. Keen to preserve and compliment the history of the building a muted, warm colour palette was curated through a combination of modern and vintage furniture pieces, furnishings and wall colours.
