Custom Rug Design Brings Family Space to Life

Philipp and Margarita were searching for a way to bring their vibrant open-plan lounge together, a space filled with rich colours that reflected their family’s personality.

Their challenge was finding a rug that could complement such a unique room without overwhelming it. After discovering the customisable Halftones rug, crafted in tufted quality, and working closely with expert rug designer Gill Thorpe, they created the perfect solution. 

Through a collaborative design process involving custom colours inspired by the family’s furnishings, the couple achieved a rug that ties their space together beautifully. Today, the family cherishes their one-of-a-kind creation, a centerpiece that's both functional and deeply meaningful.

After an initial consultation, Philipp and Margarita decided to explore the possibility of a custom Halftones rug in tufted quality. Known for its modern, geometric design, this rug provided the perfect starting point. However, to achieve a seamless integration into their space, the colours needed to be customised. 

Our expert rug designer, Gill Thorpe, stepped in to guide the process. Using furnishing samples sent by the family, Gill meticulously analysed the colour palette of their room. She suggested subtle tweaks to the existing design, carefully matching tones to ensure harmony and balance.

After reviewing mock-ups of the proposed adjustments, Philipp and Margarita were thrilled with the potential outcome. Their input throughout this collaboration ensured the finished design reflected their vision perfectly.

The outcome exceeded expectations. The customised Halftones rug now sits at the heart of Philipp and Margarita's lounge, uniting the room’s vivid hues while adding an elegant, modern flair.
