This rug is part of a four piece collection designed by Glasgow School of Art graduate, Catherine MacGruer. Catherine MacGruer x FLOOR_STORY is a wonderful testament to the designer’s ability to compose beautiful works that balance bold shapes and colour in works inspired by the Berlin metro and Bauhaus movement. Drawn to the shapes and colours of the city’s metro stations, Catherine has created abstract, modern designs that record angular architecture and strong geometric forms. Each one is beautifully handcrafted by FLOOR_STORY
The _Designer
Catherine MacGruer
Catherine MacGruer graduated from The Glasgow School of Art after specialising in Knitted Textile Design and opened her own studio in the Highlands of Scotland in 2015. Her portfolio of work includes textile design, development, commissions and collaborative projects, as well as her own range of interior and fashion accessories.The _Construction
Hand Tufted
Crafted by punching strands of yarn onto a stretched canvas frame, hand-tufting brings a deep and luxurious texture. The feel of a hand-tufted rug is hard to beat and the technique is ideal for a myriad of shapes, painterly lines and bright, contrasting colours.
