Digital Delight
Designboom is a great way to find out what's going on right across the world in art, architecture and technology and the Digital Arabesques installation by French artist Miguel Chevalier certainly fuses all three. Created for the 17th Islamic Art Festival in Sharjah, UAE, Miguel's outdoor installation took sophisticated maths, creating a wave that forms and deforms in a myriad of beautiful and hypnotic Islamic style geometrical patterns, projected onto the floor through sixhigh-powered video projectors. Considered the artist's first truly open outdoor installation, the glowing carpet can be seen in full effect on this video. It's well worth checking out.
