Whether through colour, shape or material, there is no doubt that you can do some seriously clever and creative stuff with tiles. Our friends over at Design Milk have collated some of the best.

From carpet to ceramic, woven plastic and mosaics, a tiled floor opens a new creative stream, letting designers explore possibilities that just aren't open with other flooring mediums. We were really stunned by some of the layouts Design Millk have unearthed. It just goes to show what's possible if you see the floor as a true part of your interior decor, rather than just a neutral backdrop. It seems that the stronger and braver the approach, the more dramatic and beautiful the end result.
