Every Hand Matters
The best rugs are handmade, but who knew the process could be so tuneful. The makers of our Chroma rugs are gunning for number one with this little number...
Each rug made for the Chroma collection goes through 180 hands before its ready to grace your home, the processes involved creating layer after layer of sound, as well of course, as a beautiful centrepiece at the end of it all. The folks at this family rug business have visited some of the most remote parts of India, where its philosophy of keeping families together stretches through a grassroots network across 600 villages and some 40,000 artisans, recording the sights and sounds of production. The result is a cacophony of weaving, carding, finishing and more put together in this short video on our maker's Facebook page. The video is well worth of watch for the shear creativity of it, as well as a fascinating glimpse of the effort that goes into the production of the brand's delightful handmade rugs.
