Falling Shadows by Kangan Arora

Introducing Falling Shadows, the second part of our new rug collection with Kangan Arora. The designs draw on arches, openings and architectural forms which are picked out with a clean linear aesthetic and a simple palate of dual colours.

'From the gallery to the living room, this collection observes the way light falls and shadows are cast in extraordinary spaces.'

The series of rugs features hand knotted, tufted and flat woven constructions, so there's plenty of options available.

The two-part collection is derived from Indian cosmic art along with a nod to Sanzo Wada's dictionary of colour combinations. These influences are united through Kangan's exploration into the subtle connections between India and Japan.

Falling Shadows was born from Lockdown, by observing the light and shadow seen in people’s windows during Kangan’s daily walks. The designs reflect the patterns created by light through blinds and curtains and hold a sense of balance between these ideas.
